Coach O’Brien named honorary 5K chairman

Come join the 5K Honorary Chairman, Houston Texans’ Coach O’Brien at the 2014 Impact A Hero 5K.  Texans’ coach Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans will be showing their support this year; you too can show your support for Impact A Hero and the Texans by joining us on May 17, 2014 at Reliant Stadium for the 10th Annual Impact A Hero 5K!

2014 T-shirt design confirmed

The official T-shirt design has been finalized for the 2014 Impact A Hero 5K!  We are pleased to unveil the design at this time.  2014 is a special year for IAH – it is our 10th year of organizing the 5K, the proceeds of which go to support our wounded veterans who’ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan. As such, we worked to incorporate three key items into the design.  First, the purple heart ribbon and medal are displayed on the top right.  All of the heroes that we support have received a purple heart from being injured in combat.  Second and third are the campaign ribbons and medals for Iraq and Afghanistan. 2014: Celebrating 10 years of Commitment

Join us in 2014 as we celebrate 10 Years of Commitment! The 10th Annual 5K Run/Walk/Wheel will be held May 17th at Reliant Park. Over the past 9 years, the 5K race has raised over $2 million in donations.  The fundraising goal for 2014 is $500,000 bring the total donations close to $3 million. Join us, the Houston Texans, our generous sponsors and the community as we honor our Heores! Impact A Hero provides immediate and ongoing emotional and financial support for our severely-wounded post-9/11 combat veterans and their families.
